When attending a networking event where you have to stand up and introduce yourself to the group a great tool to use so that you are well remembered is a memory hook. A memory hook is something so vividly describes what you do, people will be able to visualise it clearly in their minds eye.
If you take the time to develop good introductions at group events, people will notice you. If you don’t, you’re losing a great opportunity to someone who will.
So here are a few memory hook idea I have read or heard about over the years:
Dentist: “I believe in the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth, so help me god.”
Lawyer: “Before you turn to dust, see me for your will and trust.”
Water Filter Representative: “Either buy a filter or be a filter.”
Plumber: “Remember, a flush is always better than a full house.”
Chiropractor: “You’ll feel fine when your spine is in line.”
A good hook should be short and sweet and to the point. Humour is always good, but it could just be a simple fact about your business or product that sparks interest or intrigue.
My Advice – work on a hook, find something that fits and use it over and over and before you know it you’ll be “Bob the tooth Guy” that everyone remembers!
